Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered Lava X81 launched for Rs. 11,499

With the rapid expansion of 4G service in India, smartphone makers have been aggressively launching 4G LTE enabled smartphones. Following the launch of X46 (w/ 4G LTE), Lava has now launched X81 that also support 4G LTE and VoLTE for HD calling. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Marshmallow, and packs decent specs to stand up against LeEco's Le 2, Yu Yureka Note and Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3.

The Lava X81 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display with a layer for Corning Gorilla Glass 3, to keep scratches at bay, and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor (unknown) along with 3GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt expandable storage (up to 64GB).

There's 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera and thanks to the front LED flash, your selfies will come better in low-light conditions. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE (w/ VoLTE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 2700mAh battery.

The Lava X81 is priced at Rs. 11,499 and will be available across retails stores, and online exclusively on Flipkart starting from June 13. It comes in Space Grey color, and Lava will introduce a Gold color variant next month. The phone comes bundled with a double data offer on Airtel, and a one year free screen replacement, but this is valid only if you purchase the X81 within one month.
