LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro with USB Type-C audio interface gets official


After a flurry of leaks, the LeEco Le 2 and Le 2 Pro, successor to the Le 1s have finally been made official at an event in China. Just like its predecessor, the Le and Le Pro sport a full metal body with bezel-less design, and has a fingerprint sensor on the back. Interestingly, both Le 2 and Le 2 Pro, along with Le Max 2 are the first phones to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack in favor of CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) standard for loss-less audio through USB Type-C port.

The LeEco Le 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 2.3GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor aided by Mali T880 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB (no microSD card slot).

The Le 2 gets a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and 4K video recording capabilities. On the front there is 8-megapixel camera for clicking selfies and video calling. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE w/ VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz),Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, dual-SIM slot and USB Type C. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.5 on top and is backed by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging.

The LeEco Le 2 Pro also gets a 5.5-inch 1080p display, but is powered by MediaTek Helio X25 processor, an enhanced version of X20 SoC, and packs 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Camera-wise it gets a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 rear camera w/ LED flash and f/2.4 aperture and 8-megapixel front camera. It is also fueled by 3000mAh battery with fast charging, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.5 on top.

The LeEco Le 2 is priced at CNY 1099 ($170 | Rs. 11,000) and the Le 2 Pro costs CNY 1499 ($230 | Rs. 15,320). Both are now up for pre-order in China, and will be available from April 26.
