Facebook for Android will soon let you save videos for offline viewing
Social networking giant Facebook is testing a new feature for its Android app, that allows you to save videos for offline viewing. This feature is currently showing up in Facebook beta v85 and v86.
Now when you see videos on your news feed and want to save them to watch later, you'll have to click on the three dots on the right side of the video and select 'Save Video' option. Note that, the saved videos are not saved on you device, instead they are saved within the Facebook app to protect copyrighted content.
You can watched the save videos offline (without internet connection), once they are saved in the app. After watching, if you want to delete the video, you can long press on them and select the 'Unsave' option.
The new feature is similar to YouTube's offline functionality, which lets you save videos offline to watch them later. YouTube offline was rolled out to Android and iOS devices in India in December 2014.
