Nextbit Robin Ember color variant announced, coming to India next week
San Francisco based Nextbit launched its cloud-first Android smartphone, the Robin last year for $399 (now available for $299) in Mint and Midnight grey colors. The Robin also arrived in India in May for Rs. 19,999.
Now Nextbit has introduced a limited Ember color variant of the Robin that has black back and bright red end caps. The Ember Variant is now available for order via nextbit.com for $299. The brand also promised that new Ember color Robin will come to India next week in limited quantities and will be available for purchase via Flipkart for Rs. 19,999.
Nextbit also announced that it will be rolling out August software update for the Robin next week. The August update will add support for backing up videos to the cloud. “Just like with photos, old videos you took but don’t watch can be archived to create more space on your Robin”. The update will also bring improved thermal tuning to keep the phone cool and includes Android's July security patch as well.
To recap, the Nextbit Robin offers 100GB of free cloud storage to let you backup, media contents and least used apps (WiFi connection needed). The specs include 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB non-expandable storage, 13MP rear & 5MP front cameras, 4G LTE, USB Type-C, WiFi 802.11ac, NFC, Android Marshmallow and 2680mAh battery with fast charging.
