Android 7.0 Nougat roll out expected on August 22
Last month, Evan Blass (@evleaks) reported that Android 7.0 Nougat roll out will start sometime in August. Now according to Canadian telecom operator Telus' latest software update schedule, Android 7.0 Nougat updates will be available starting August 22 for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P phones.
It's worth mentioning that Telus was accurate with its rollout date for last year's Android Marshmallow update for Nexus devices.
In addition LG has also announced that it will kick off Android Nougat's limited preview program for the Korean G5 units on the same day, August 22. Like all major smartphone vendors, LG gets the final code in advance from Google, but will have to wait to start its preview until Android Nougat is officially launched.
If everything goes well, we should see an announcement from Google, followed by system images next, followed over-the-air roll out.
LG has already confirmed that its upcoming flagship, the V20 will be the first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat. The announcement will take place on September 6. Google will also unveil its two HTC made Nexus phone in the coming weeks which are codenamed Sailfish and Marlin.
