Google Pixel XL (Marlin) surfaces on Geekbench

Few days back, a reported suggested that Google will drop Nexus branding from their phone this year, and will be allegedly call Google Pixel (Sailfish) and Google Pixel XL (Marlin). Specs of both the phones are no stranger as they have been leaked by reliable sources and spotted on benchmarking websites. Recently The Pixel XL (Marlin) was spotted on AnTuTu and now it has surfaced on Geekbench. Additionally, @LIabTooFeR has revealed possible camera details of the Pixel XL.

As per Geekbench listing, the Google Pixel XL will have 1.59GHz Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM. The operating system is listed as Android NMR1, which which means Android Nougat Manufacturer Release 1. The specs are in line with previous reports and benchmark sightings.

Coming to the camera details, according to @LIabTooFeR, Pixel XL will  sports 12-megapixel Sonh IMX379 rear camera, and 8-megapixel Sony IMX179 front facing camera. To recap, last year's Nexus 5X and Huawei 6P had Sony IMX278 sensor, so the IMX378 sensor of Pixel and Pixel XL could come with some improvements.

Earlier reports have claimed that this year's Google phones will be manufactured by HTC. The Pixel will have 5-inch display and 2770mAh battery, while the Pixel XL will have a bigger 5.5-inch screen and 3450mAh battery. They will feature a special version of Android Nougat, which will offer addition software and tweaked UI on top of vanilla Android. Both will also pack fingerprint scanner.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, along with new products on October 4.
