LeEco Le Pro 3 with Snapdragon 821 SoC gets official


LeEco at an event today in China, has unveiled the Le Pro 3 smartphone. It is the world's second smartphone after Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe to utilize Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 821 SoC. The phone sports a metal unibody design that measures 7.5mm around the waist.

Similar to Le Max 2, Le 2, the Le Pro 3 also ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C based CDLA standard for transmitting voice via CDLA based headphones. There's also a fingerprint scanner at the back

The LeEco Le Pro has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display. Apart from Snapdragon 821 SoC, the phone comes with 4GB/64GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB inbuilt storage. There’s no 8GB RAM variant as suggested by the rumors.

For photography, the Le Pro 3 gets 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and phase detection auto-focus (PDAF). For clicking selfies you get a 8-megapixel 76.5-degree wide-angle front camera.

It runs eUI 5.8, which is based on Android Marshmallow, and supports dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFI 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type-C for connectivity. A 4070mAh battery powers the phone which supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, that offers three hours of talk-time with just five minutes of charging using 24W fast charger.

The LeEco Le Pro 3 4GB RAM w/ 32GB storage model is priced at CNY 1799 ($270 | Rs. 18,000) and 6GB RAM w/ 64GB storage model costs CNY 1999 ($299 | Rs. 20,000). There is also a special Zhang Yimou edition with 4GB RAM w/ 64GB storage priced at CNY 2499 ($374 | Rs. 25,000), and 6GB RAM w/ 128GB storage for CNY 2999 ($449 | Rs. 30,000). It will be available for pre-order from today in China and shipping starts September 28.
