Xiaomi-backed Yi Technology unveils Yi M1 affordable mirrorless camera


Yi Technology also known as Xiaoyi is a tech brand backed by Xiaomi. Xiaoyi are the makers of Xiaomi's Yi action cameras in the past, but the company now wants to get serious in the camera market and has launched a self-branded product called Yi M1 mirrorless camera.

The Yi M1 is a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera with a 20.16MP Sony IMX269 sensor with a maximum ISO sensitivity of 25,6000, a shutter speed of 60 - 1/4000s, EIS and is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps. The camera also lets you effectively shoot 50MP photos, and supports RAM and JPEG file format.

It features a 3-inch 720 x 480 touch screen display and Bluetooth, WiFi wireless connectivity support which lets you transfer photos to your smartphone. The M1 has two lenses – a 12-40mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and a 42.5mm f/1.8 lens.

The Yi M1 camera with standard zoom lens is priced at CNY 2199 (Rs. 22,000) and CNY 2999 (Rs. 30,00) for the camera and dual-lens kits. It will be available in China starting September 23 from JD.com.
