Lenovo refreshes ThinkPad laptop lineup with Kaby Lake


Lenovo is refreshing its ThinkPad lineup of laptops (total 9) ahead of CES 2017 with 7th-gen Intel Core Kaby Lake processors. These laptops are also equipped with Precision Touchpad, a discrete Trusted Platform Module for hardware-level security, Windows Hello (select model), MilSpec durability and ships with Windows 10 Signature Edition software, in order to save users from unwanted apps and bloatware.



ThinkPad X270 ― starting price $909, available from March 2017
This is the smallest model of the new ThinkPad lineup and sports 12.5-inch display. It can be configured with 4GB to 16GB RAM, a 2TB HDD or 512GB SSD and will be available with the choice of HD IPS, FHD or FHD Touch display. Other features include a USB Type-C port, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, Ethernet jack and headset jack. It weighs 2.9 pounds and promises up to 21 hours of battery life.



ThinkPad Yoga 370 ― available in March 2017 for a starting price of $1264
It is a convertible laptop that comes with 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen display with pen support and sports 360-degree hinge that lets you use the convertible as laptop, tablet or position it in stand or tent mode. It comes with up to 1TB SSD, up to 16GB RAM, Thunderbolt3 and promises 10-hour battery life.



ThinkPad 13 ― available in January 2017 for a starting price of $674
It's a budget and most affordable ThinkPad laptop of the lot with 13.3-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display and can be configured up to 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Other features includes USB Type-C port, 3 x USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, headset jack, HDMI port and backlit keyboard.



ThinkPad T470 ― available in February 2017 at starting price of $914
The laptop features 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display and can be configured with up to 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and packs NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. It include fingerprint reader and an optional IR camera for Windows Hello secure login support. Other features are 3 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI ports, SD card slot and Ethernet.



Thinkpad T470s & T470p
They are variants of ThinkPad T470 and sports 14-inch display, but are slightly slimmer and lighter than T470.

The ThinkPad T470s supports up to 24GB RAM and up to 1TB SSD and comes with the option of touchscreen. It does not include NVIDIA graphics card instead uses on-board graphic, and ditch support for fingerprint reader and IR camera. It will be available at a starting price of $1100 from February 2017.

The ThinkPad T470p comes with a 45 watt processor instead of Kaby-Lake U chip utilized by other models in this series. It has NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics, supports up to 32GB RAM and promises 12 hours of battery life. It will be available in March 2017 starting at $1050.



ThinkPad L470 ― available in March starting at $800
It also comes with 14-inch IPS display with HD/FHD resolution. It includes Intel HD graphics as well as a discrete AMD Radeon R5 M430 graphics, and can be configured with up to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD.



ThinkPad T570 ― available from March 2017 for $900 and up.
The laptop features 15.6-inch display and comes with the option of Full HD Touch or 4K non-touch screen. It supports up to 32GB RAM, up to 1TB SSD and includes fingerprint reader and Windows Hello-compatible IR camera for secure login. Other features include Thunderbolt 3, HDMI ports, optional support for an LTE modem and up to 16 hours of battery life.



ThinkPad L570
The laptop has 15.6-inch screen and comes with the option of 1366 x 768 TN or FHD IPS display. It can support up to 32GB RAM and a 1TB HDD or 512GB SDD, and promises 11 hours of battery life. Prices start at $809 and will be available from March 2017.
