Samsung Notebook 9 gets a refresh with light-weight design and Kaby Lake
Samsung is refreshing its 13-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 laptops with Kaby Lake and few additional features.
The laptops also gets a design tweak with a with more curved chassis, making it thinner and lighter than its predecessors. It also sport slim bezels for the near edge-to-edge display. With the tweaks, the 15-inch model now weighs 2 pounds (984g) while the 13-inch model weighs in at 1.8 pounds (817g).
The 13.3-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 laptops run Windows 10 and feature Full HD IPS display, backlit keyboards, built-in fingerprint scanner & 720p webcam for Windows Hello support, microSD card slot, HDMI, WiFi 802.11ac and 1.5 Watt speakers.
The 13.3-inch Notebook 9 will be available with the option of Core i5/8GB RAM and Core i7/16GB RAM with storage options of 128GB or 256GB SSD. It includes 2 x USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port.
The 15-inch Notebook 9 on the other hand feature Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake chip and can be configured with 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB SSD storage. It has 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port and USB Type-C port.
The Notebook 9 laptops pack 30 Wh battery, which is rated for up to 7 hours of usage time. It also supports fast charging as well promising full recharge in just 80 minutes,
