Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is official with dual cameras, bigger battery
Asus has announced its first smartphone to boast dual-rear cameras at CES 2017 dubbed ZenFone 3 Zoom.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom sports dual 12MP rear camera, one with Sony IMX362 sensor and f/1.7 aperture, and the other featuring 2.3x optical zoom allowing for 2x zoom. It also features dual PDAF, 4-axis OIS and 3-axis EIS for fast image capturing.
The rear camera also boasts TriTech+ optimization, which select one of three autofocus methods ㅡDual Pixel, continuous AF and laser AF ㅡ to deliver fast image capturing. The phone's camera will also get RAW support with the upcoming Android Nougat update. On the front there's 13MP Sony IMX214 camera with screen flash feature.
Another highlight of ZenFone 3 Zoom is its beefy battery capacity of 5000mAh that promises 42 days of standby time and up to 6.4 hours of continuous UltraHD video recording. Even though it packs a beefy battery capacity it is still thin and light measuring 7.9mm thick and weighing at 170g.
As for the other specs, the ZenFone 3 Zoom features 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a layer of Gorilla Glass 4 and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It will be available in multiple variants – 3GB, 4GB RAM and 32GB, 64GB, 128GB storage options.
Running Android Marshmallow with ZenUI 3.0 on top, the ZenFone 3 Zoom supports hybrid-dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type-C. It also gets a fingerprint scanner at the back and support for Hi-Res Audio.
The Asus ZenFone 3 comes in Glacier, Silver, Sapphire Black and Rose Gold Colors. It will be available from February 2017. Pricing is yet to be announced.
