Dell XPS 13 convertible with Infinity edge display announced
Ahead of CES 2017, Dell has officially introduced the XPS 13 Windows 10 convertible. It sports an infinity-edge touch display, a backlit keyboard and has 360 degree hinge, which lets users to use the convertible as laptop, tablet or position it in tend and stand mode.
Thanks to the infinity-edge display, Dell has fitted the 13.3-inch display in the frame of an 11-inch laptop, making XPS 13, the world's smallest 13-inch convertible. It measures 304 x 199 x 13.7mm and weighs 1.24kg.
The 13.3-inch display of XPS 13, comes with the options of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) pixel or 3200 x 1800 pixel (QHD+) resolution. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning's Gorilla glass and supports Dell Active Pen stylus (optional), which has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The Dell XPS 13 can be configured with seventh generation Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor or Core i7-7Y75 processors w/ Intel HD Graphics 615, 4GB/8GB/16GB LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB SATA SSD or 1TB PCIe SSD storage.
It includes a Thunderbolt 3 port, a DisplayPort, USB Type-C 3.1 port, microSD card reader and headset jack. For wireless connectivity there's Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11ac and Miracast support. Other features include 2 x Waves MaxxAudio Pro tuned speakers, infrared webcam and a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello.
The 46Whr battery inside is rated to deliver up to 15 hours of battery life on the Full HD display variant or none hours when streaming Netflix content.
The Dell XPS 13 will be available in the U.S from January 5 starting at $999.99 (Rs. 68,000).
