Android 7.1.2 lets you decide where to set live wallpapers

According to Google, the recently released Android 7.1.2 public beta was an "incremental maintenance update focused on polishing and refinements".

The update was rolled out to Pixel and select Nexus device, but included a few more features apart from enhancements and bug fixes, Google did not disclose. Yesterday it was reported that Android 7.1.2 added Pixel phone's fingerprint 'swipe for notification' gesture to Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

Today a new feature was discovered, that lets users to to choose where to set the live wallpaper -  “Home screen” and “Home screen and lock screen”. Prior to this Android versions by default automatically set live wallpapers to both home screen and lock screen. But now you can choose to apply live wallpaper on both screen or only one.

This feature is available for Google's Pixel, Pixel XL and Nexus 5X smartphone. The Nexus 6P will also get the new feature along with "Moves" feature when Android 7.1.1 beta will be available.

If you happen to own any one of the aforementioned device, and running the latest Android 7.1.2 beta, long press on the home screen, select wallpapers, then Live. Now select a live wallpaper of your choice, and you will get the option of setting it up on home screen or both home screen and lock screen.
