Samsung Galaxy S8 specs leak out

A day after Evan Blass posted the spec sheet of Samsung's huge Galaxy S8+, Technobuffalo has revealed the specs of the smaller Galaxy S8. According to the leak, it appears that Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have the same specs, but different screen size and battery capacity.

As per the source, the Galaxy S8 will feature 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED full rectangle display or 5.6-inch when factoring the rounded corners. It will sport 12MP Dual Pixel main camera and 8MP camera on the front. The RAM and storage capacity is 4GB and 64GB respectively.

The phone will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, and include Iris scanner, microSD card slot, Samsung Knox, 4G LTE and wireless charging (charging pad sold separately). It will also come bundled with earphones tuned by AKG.

Again, in the leak the processor and OS is not mentioned, but it is all but confirmed that Galaxy S8/Galaxy S8+ will be equipped by Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 chip depending on market and ship with Android Nougat.

To recap, yesterday's leak revealed that Galaxy S8+ will sport 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED "full rectangle" display or 6.1-inch when factoring in the rounded corners. The phones will also be differentiated based on battery capacity. Previous rumors claim that Galaxy S8 will have 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8+ will include 3500mAh battery.

Meanwhile, a report from Korean publication ETNews suggest that Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be unveiled at an event in New York on March 29, and hit the shelves in Major market on April 21.

Samsung is expected to tease and reveal the announcement date of Galaxy S8 duo at MWC.
