Xiaomi unveils new Mi TV 4A with AI based speech recognition


Xiaomi is upgrading its Mi TV 4 series, which it launched back in CES 2017. The Chinese technology company has introduced its latest Mi TV 4A series of Smart TVs in its home market.

The TVs comes in four screen sizes – 43-inch, 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch and is intergrated with Patch Wall, a UI layer on top of Android OS, that's based on deep learning artificial intelligence. It can curate content based on recommendations. Xiaomi is also offering standard variants of these TVs without AI.

The TVs boasts HDR 10 for clear picture quality, Dolby & DTS Audio for enhanced sound experience and comes with a new Mi Bluetooth Remote featuring infrared and speech recognition powered by Sougou ASR speech recognition technology, which promises 97 percent accuracy.

The 43-inch and 49-inch TVs offer Full HD displays, while the 55-inch and 65-inch TV models sports screen with 4K resolution. All models are powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Amlogic T962 Cortex-A53 processor backed by 2GB RAM and Mali 450 MP5 GPUs.

They also include 32GB internal storage (8GB on standard variants without AI), dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, Mi Port, 3 x HDMI 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and Eternet. 

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A line up will be available in China starting March 23, and the pricing is as follows:
  • Mi TV 4A 43-inch – CNY 2099 ($304 | Rs. 20,000)
  • Mi TV 4A 49-inch – CNY 2599 ($377 | Rs. 24,700) for non AI version | CNY 2899 ($421 | Rs. 27,500) for AI variant
  • Mi TV 4A 55-inch – CNY 3199 ($464 | Rs. 30,500) for non AI version | CNY 3599 ($522 | Rs. 34,000) for AI variant
  • Mi TV 4A 65-inch – CNY 5699 ($827 | Rs. 54,000) for non AI version | CNY 6199 ($900 | Rs. 58,925) for AI version
