Xiaomi latest smartphone is all set to take the Indian smartphone market by storm yet again especially in the sub-Rs. 6,000 budget segment. The Chinese smartphone maker is launching the ultra-affordable Redmi 4A in the country priced aggresively at Rs. 5,999.

For that price, the Redmi 4A offers 5-inch HD IPS display, Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It comes with 13MP f/2.2 PDAF rear camera assisted by an LED flash, and 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. On-board connectivity features include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3120mAh battery runs the show. It runs Android Marshmallow out of the box. Note that, the phone comes with hybrid dual-SIM slots, so you will be able to either use two SIMs or a SIM  and microSD card.

Interestingly the phone retails at around the same price in China (CNY 599 = INR 5,670) and the Xiaomi was able to price it similarly thanks to the Make in India initiative.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A will go on sale on Mi.com and Amazon India starting March 23 in Dark Grey and Gold hues. There's also a Rose Gold version, which will be available exclusively on Mi.com on April 6 during Mi Fan Festival.
