Truecaller for feature phones launched in India exclusively for Airtel

Popular caller ID app Truecaller has introduced a new caller ID service for feature phones with no internet connectivity. Initially the service will be available in India exclusively on Airtel networks.

“This is the first-of-its-kind service that we are providing with Airtel in India. We want to work towards ensuring that more and more users are able to enjoy this service for now.” 

Truecaller's caller ID service allows users to know the name of the person calling, even if the caller's number is not saved in the phone contact. For feature phones users, the caller ID service will deliver a flash SMS with callers details, before they receive the call from an unknown number. 

The new service is expected to roll out later this month in the country as a subscription based service. The pricing and plans is yet to be revealed.

The company also plans to expand the new caller ID service to other markets later.
