Moto Z2 Play spotted on TENAA; Lenovo confirms 3000mAh battery on-board


The specs and design of Motorola's upcoming budget Moto Z line smartphone, the Moto Z2 Play is no secret thanks to Evan Blass. Now the device has received China's TENAA certification, confirming the previously leaked specs and design.

As per TENAA, Moto Z2 Play will carry the model nimber XT1710 and has a thickness of just 5.99mm, making it thinner than its predecessor Moto Z Play thickness of 6.9mm. It will weigh 20g less than Moto Z Play at just 145g. However, the slim and light-weight design comes at the expense of battery capacity, as it will feature a smaller battery than its predecessor.

The battery capacity of Moto Z2 Play according to TENAA is, 2820mAh battery, but Lenovo (Motorola's parent company) has confirmed that the battery on-board will be 3000mAh. To remind you, Moto Z Play packed a beefy 3510mAh battery, and promises up to 50 hours of run time on normal usage.


As for the other specs, the Moto Z2 Play will have 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 626 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 12MP Sony IMX362 rear camera and 5MP selfie camera. It will run Android 7.1.1 out of the box.

The Moto Z2 Play will sport metal-unibody design, physical home button on the front w/ embedded fingerprint sensor, 16 pin connector at the back to support Moto Mods and selfie flash.

According to reports, the Moto Z line (Moto Z2, Moto Z Force and Moto Z2 Play) will be unveiled on June 8. The company recently launch its most affordable Moto C line, and is also expected to launch Moto X4, Moto G5S/G5S Plus and Moto E4/E4 Plus according to a recently leaked roadmap.
