LG's X Venture is a rugged smartphone with 4100mAh battery
LG is expanding its 'X' line up with a new rugged smartphone dubbed X Venture. It is a mid-range smartphone boasting MIL-STD 810G and IP68 certification for an advanced rugged and durable design, making it water and dust resistance, shock-proof and capable of surviving harsh conditions like extreme temperatures. It sports metal frame and a non-slip back cover, that comes in Black and Brown colors.
In terms of specification, the LG X Venture features 5.2-inch Full HD In-Cell display and is powered by Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
It gets 16MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP 120-degree wide-angle front camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-C port. It is fueled by 4100mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 24 hours of mixed usage, and supports Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging. It also has a fingerprint scanner and runs Android Nougat out of the box.
The device also comes with an Outdoor Essentials app, which features six tools aimed for outdoor use including a barometer, compass, activity counter (steps/calories/distance, exercise tracker, weather reported and flashlight. There's also a dedicated QuickButton on the side, for easier interaction with the phone, that can perform different actions like bringing up Outdoor Essentials app (short press), enabling glove mode (double press) and settings (long press). The button can also be customized to open any other app of your choice.
The LG X Venture will go on sale in North America starting today, followed by select Europe regions, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East in the coming weeks. Price will be announced at the respective local launches.
