HTC U11 with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage lands in India for Rs. 51,990

HTC has launched its latest flagship, the HTC U11 in India for Rs. 51,990. First, it's worth mentioning that the HTC U11 launched in India packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. 

The variant is specifically designed for select markets. Besides India, the new 6GB variant will be launched in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines. The standard version offers 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

The HTC U11 was initially introduced last month as the world's first smartphone to boast Edge Sense technology. The tech allows you to trigger certain actions like opening camera, send text by voice, check email and more by squeezing the edges of the phones.

Design wise it sports a premium metal and 3D glass design, and the phone's body is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance. It also ditches the 3.5mm audio jack in favor of USB-C Audio. It has a home button on the front, that hides the fingerprint sensor. The phone also support multiple digital voice assistants including HTC Sense Companion, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa (not supported in India).

HTC claims that the U11 has received the highest-ever DxOMark rating for a smartphone camera for both photo and video with a rating of 90. For photography, it gets 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera at the back with f/1.7 aperture, UltraSpeed auto-focus, OIS, dual-LED flash, HDR Boost, Hyperlapse shooting and 4K video recording capabilities. On the front there's 16MP selfie camera with HDR Boost, BSI sensor and Full HD video recording.

As far as other specs are concerned, the HTC U11 features 5.5-inch QHD Gorilla Glass 5 display, Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, expandable storage, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C port and 3000mAh battery. It runs Android 7.1.1 out of the box.

The HTC U11 comes in Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver colors, and will be available across the country in the last week of June via online and offline channels. Online it will be available from Amazon India. Pre-orders open tomorrow, June 18 via HTC e-store, and customers who pre-order will get free HTC flip-cover worth Rs. 1,999.
