Nokia 3 goes on sale in India via offline retail stores
HMD Global, the company that has exclusive rights to sell Nokia branded devices, earlier this week launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India. Now the wait is finally over, as one of the trio, the Nokia 3 is now available in India, and you can head to the nearest mobile store to buy one.
The Nokia 3 is the most affordable of the trio and is priced at Rs. 9,499. It will be offered in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue and Copper White.
Launch offers include 5GB data per month at Rs. 149 per month for three months for Vodafone customers and vouchers worth Rs. 2,500 (Rs. 1,800 on hotels & Rs. 700 off on domestic flights) on travel website makemytrip.com.
Nokia 3 sports a polycarbonate body with metallic frame, and doesn't feature a fingerprint scanner, which can be considered its weak point, given that, most smartphones in this price segment comes with fingerprint scanner. The specs sheet is also mediocre, but Nokia will be hoping to bank on its brand value, huge loyal customers base in the country and offline sales strategy to sell the device.
The Nokia 3 specs include 5-inch HD display, quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8MP front and rear camera, dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, 2650mAh battery, and the usual connectivity suite. It runs Android Nougat, but the good news is that Nokia has promised Android O update.
Now with Nokia 3 now in stores, the next Nokia device that will hit the shelves will be Nokia 5. It will also be available through offline channels with pre-bookings opening July 7, and should go on sale a week after. It is priced at Rs. 12,899. The Nokia 6, which is highly awaited, will be an online exclusive. It will be available on Amazon India, and pre-regstrations open July 14.
