Pixel 2, Pixel XL 2 possible specs are out

Google is reportedly working on Google Pixel 2 phones, and like last year, this year also, there will be two versions: Pixel 2 codenamed walleye, and Pixel XL 2 codenamed taimen. Also it's worth mentioning, there was a third model codenamed muskie, but it has been reportedly cancelled, in favor of taimen. Now XDA Developers has revealed the possible specifications of both Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2.

The walleye (Pixel 2) will be follow up to the current Pixel phone and is said to sport "almost identical" design, but will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, for a set of stereo speakers. It will have 4.97-inch Full HD display and come with Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (twice that of the original Pixel).

Taimen (Pixel XL 2) will be taking the place of Pixel XL 2 and is  the largest of the duo sporting 5.99-inch 1440p display with OLED panel provided by LG and will have smaller bezel. The mention of "smaller bezel" could possibly mean that Pixel XL 2 will have a bezel-less display like Galaxy S8 line and LG G6. It will also have same metal and glass design on the back same as Pixel XL, but this time the glass won't cover the fingerprint scanner. However, it will have 3.5mm audio jack, and sport a single rear camera.

Like walleye, Taimen is also expected to feature Snapdragon 835 processor, and 4GB RAM, but house more storage capacity of 128GB.

The current Pixel phones are manufactured by HTC, but this year, it may be split between two companies. The larger Pixel, taimer, is likely to be made by LG, and the smaller walleye by HTC. Both are most likely to ship with the latest Android O, and are expected to break cover sometime in October.
