Samsung is said to be working on a rugged Galaxy S8 device dubbed Galaxy S8 Active, that will be exclusive to U.S market. Now a new report states that the South Korean tech giant is ready a new rugged tablet as well.
The new rugged tablet is the successor of Galaxy Tab Active, which was launched back in 2014: Galaxy Tab Active 2.
Two models are being tested: SM-T390, which is WiFi only, and SM-T395 that will support WiFi as well as LTE. Both the tablet will release in Europe and Latin America first, and is expected to expand to more market globally. Unfortunately, there are no details about the specifications or exact unveiling date of the tablet.
Samsung's "Active" line of devices stand out for their rugged features and is aimed at outdoor activities. The original Galaxy Tab Active was the company's first rugged tablet offering boasting anti-shock covering to withstand up to 1.2m of drops, IP67 rating for dust and water resistant, C-Pen stylus, and security softwares. The specs in offer was mediocre, but had an 8-inch display.
