Google Pixel XL 2 leak shows slimmer bezels, squeezable sides

Google is reportedly working on the next gen Pixel phones. Similar to last year, there will be two Pixel phones, Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 and are codenamed walleye and taimen. Even though the Pixel XL 2 is the direct successor of Pixel XL, it will come with a bigger display.

Now Android Police has shared an alleged render of the Pixel XL 2 giving us a good look at the device and has revealed some interesting details.

As seen in the render the Google Pixel XL 2 will get a new design with very slim bezels, however, it will retain the same two-tone glass and metal combo at the rear. In the first Pixel phones, the camera module and fingerprint sensor were located on the glass housing. But in the Pixel XL 2, only the camera is housed in the glass section, while the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the metal housing.

The source suggests that Pixel XL 2 will sport 6-inch bezel-less AMOLED display made by LG, and have an aspect ratio of 2:1, similar to Galaxy S8 line and LG G6. Even though it appears to have curved edges on both sides, the screen is flat. Interestingly, the device is said to feature squeezable frame, just like HTC's U11 flagship, so you can squeeze the sides to interact with it.

Earlier rumors have suggested that Pixel XL 2 will have QHD display, Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, and 3.5mm audio jack.  There is no doubt, it will ship with Google's latest Android 8.0 O software.

Google usually unveils its mobile devices in October, so the Pixel 2 line is most likely to be presented during the same time frame.
