Nokia 8 will reportedly be HMD's first high-end flagship; Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM in tow

Few days back, a leak revealed list of upcoming Nokia smartphones, along with their processor details. These include Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. According to the leak, the Nokia 2 will use Snapdragon 212, Nokia 7 will come with Snapdragon 630, Nokia 8 with Snapdragon 660, and Nokia 9 with Snapdragon 835. Now reliable tipster Roland Quandt has revealed some details of Nokia 8.

According to his sources, HMD Global has finalized the first top-of-the line flagship from Nokia and it will be Nokia 8 and not Nokia 9. The Nokia 8 will have the model number TA-1004, and will be powered by Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, and not SD660 as rumored earlier.

Interestingly, TA-1004 is the same model that appeared in various benchmark sites last month with Snapdragon 835 and 4GB RAM, and was being referred as Nokia 9. Later a report also mentioned that HMD Global has cancelled the Nokia TA-1004 with 4GB RAM, but now it appears like the model was assigned to Nokia 8. It is said to house 64GB storage.

The Nokia 8 is also expected to come with dual cameras at the back with ZEISS lens, 2K display, fingerprint scanner, and dedicated slots for dual-SIMs and microSD card. Color options include "blue, steel (silver), gold/blue, and gold/copper colors". However it is not known if all colors will be available or a select few at launch.

The source says that Nokia 8 will be initially announced in Europe and will not be cheap. It will be priced €550 to €600, possibly €589 ($686 | Rs. 43,500) and will be released on July 31.
