Xiaomi Mi 5X new variant with 32GB storage announced


Xiaomi, late last month in China, announced the Mi 5X with dual-cameras and a new design element, that looks more like that of Apple's iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5. It was released in a single variant with 64GB storage, and a price tag of CNY 1499 ($225 | Rs. 14,400).

Now the Chinese device maker has launched a new cheaper variant of the Mi 5X. The new version coimes with 32GB storage, and is priced lower at CNY 1299 ($195 | Rs. 12,500). Apart from the storage and pricing, there's no difference between the 64GB and 32GB storage model.

The Mi 5X will feature 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform, 4GB RAM, 5MP front shooter and 3080mAh battery. 

The dual-camera sports two 12MP sensor — one with a f/2.2 aperture wide-angle lens and other with a f/2.6 aperture telephoto lens offering portrait mode and background blur. The dual-cameras are further assisted by dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. 

Other specs include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, microSD card support, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port. It runs MIUI 9 based Android Nougat out of the box and color options include Black, Rose Gold and Gold.

In related, Xiaomi is expected to bring the Mi 5X to India shores in September, and both the 32GB and 64GB storage versions is most likely to be made available in the country.
