Gionee Steel 2 Plus escapes China, launches in Thailand as M7 Power


Two days back Gionne introduced its first near-bezel less smartphone M7 in China alongside the battery-centric Steel 2 Plus, which it said will be be released in Global markets under the moniker M7 Power.

Today the Chinese device maker has introduced the M7 Power for the global maket starting with Thailand. It has been priced at 9990 Thai Baht ($299 | Rs. 20,000), and will go on sale soon in the country in Dark Blue, Black and Gold. Other markets where M7 Power is expected to launch include India, Nepal, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia.

As the name suggests the M7 Power is all about the power. It packs a beefy 5000mAh battery, which is likely to last for two days on a single charge. It also has a larger 6-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) Full-View diaplay with 18:9 aspect ratio, which means there is no bezels on the sides of the screen boasting 85 percent screen to body ratio.


Coming to the other specs, the M7 Power features4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 13MP f/2.0 PDAF rear camera, 8MP front camera and a fingerprint scanner. It supports dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Amigo OS 5.0.

  1. When I first saw "steel", the first thing that came to my mind was that this phone was going to be something like the Nokia 3310 and its very recent follower anywhere i love it.
