ZTE Axon M foldable smartphone with dual display leaked
Samsung is reportedly working on a foldable smartphone, but the device will launch next year. Lenovo has already showed off a similar device last year, but since then, the company has been mum about it. However, it appears the first foldable smartphone will hit the market earlier than expected thanks to ZTE.
The China based device maker is said to be working on a foldable smartphone under the codename Axon Mutly, and will be launched as Axon M. The device will have two Full HD display, and when unfolded will turn into tablet, and work together like a single 6.8-inch screen bearing a resolution of 1920 x 2160 pixels. When folded, the Axon will will function as a regular smartphone.
That said, the Axon M will not be a true foldable smartphone, as it will have two separate displays connected to each other via hinge. Samsung is developing its foldable phone with flexible display, which means it will have a single screen, and you'll have to fold/unfold to turn it into phone/tablet.
According to Android Authority Axon M is aimed at bridging the gap between smartphone and tablets, with the two screens delivering a screen size almost equal to a small tablet. the dual screen could allow you to run more than one apps at the same time for multi-tasking purpose.
As for the specs, the Axon M is rumored to feature Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 20MP camera and 3120mAh battery.
The Axon M is expected to be unveiled at an event in New York on October 17.
