Samsung is working on a new Galaxy O series of smartphone, with entry level specs and large display. The first two devices under the series will be Galaxy Grand On (SM-G550) and Galaxy Mega On (SM-G600). Already possible specs of both the devices are out, and now one of the device, Galaxy Mega On, has passed through GeekBench Benchmark test.
The Galaxy Mega On listed on GeekBench also carries the model number SM-G6000. As per the listing Galaxy Mega On is powered by MSM8916, which is Snapdragon 410 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. But, Snapdragon 410 dosen't support the 1.4GHz clock speed, so there is a possible that the Galaxy Mega On might come with Snapdragon 412 SoC instead. Another possibility is that the Snapdragon 410 was employed and overclocked. Other information revealed was that the phone will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The rest of the specs inlcude 5.5-inch 720p display, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB expandable storage, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front shooter and 3000mAh battery.
At the moment there is no official word on the phones availability and pricing.
Samsung is reportedly planning to introduce a new Galaxy O series of smartphones. The company is working on two smartphone Galaxy Grand On (SM-G550) and Galaxy Mega On (SM-G600) both, which will come under Galaxy O series and are mid-range smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand On features 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with Mali T720 GPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage (microSD card slot included). It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and has dual-SIM support. Camerawise, it sports 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter. Fueling the device is a 2600mAh battery. Measures 142 x 71.9 x 8.5mm; weighs 140g.
Samsung Galaxy Mega On will feature 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. Onboard storage is 8GB and there is support for microSD cards. This phone also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and support dual-SIM. For imaging there is 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery. Measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm; weighs 145g.
Connectivity options on Galaxy Grand On and Galaxy Mega On include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is not clear whether the phones will support 4G LTE.
The images of Galaxy Grand On and Galaxy Mega on are not out yet and there are no details when both the phones will see the light of the day.
