Samsung announces ultra-wide 49-inch QLED gaming monitor


Samsung has announced three new monitors for your gaming needs including a 27-inch and 32-inch CHG70 monitors, but the one that gets all the attention is CHG90.

The Samsung CHG90  is the world's first Ultra-wide monitor sporting 49-inch screen, with a max resolution of 3840 x 1080 double full HD (DFHD) pixels and an sharp aspect ratio of 32:9, to deliver exceptional visuals and immersive gameplay, as well as smoother multi-tasking. It's like two screens using 16:9 displays glued together and is basically designed for gamers as a replacement to the dual-screen setups. As a result, gamers no longer need to worry about bezel interference that occur when combining multiple smaller monitors together for an expanded view.

The CHG90 features Samsung's QLED Quantam Dot technology and supports HDR 10 standard for a realistic, detailed and colorful gameplay. It also supports AMD's new Radeon FreeSync 2 technology that "combines smooth, stutter- and tear-free gaming with low-latency, high-brightness, high-contrast visuals, as well as excellent black levels and support for a wide color gamut to showcase HDR content with twice the perceivable brightness and color of that offered by the sRGB standard". This will allow gamers to enjoy a smooth, low-latency HDR gaming experience without having to frequently readjust the software on monitor settings.

The monitor also boasts 1 milliseconds reponse time and a 144Hz screen refresh rate, and advanced, four-channel scanning technology to deter motion blur throughout the entire screen, making the monitor ideal for first-person shooting, racing, flight simulation, and action-heavy games. 

The connectivity options on the monitor include a DisplayPort, a Mini DisplayPort, 2 x HDMI ports and 3 x USB 3.0 ports. It also includes a adjustment stand, allowing for flexible height adjustment for improved viewing comfort.

The 27-inch and 32-inch CHG70 monitors also offer the same functions as CHG90, but comes with 2560 x 1440 pixels display and 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a dual-hinge stand that provides more precise control over how the display panel is positioned. They also has the same connectivity features as CHG90, but misses out the Mini DisplayPort.

The 49-inch CHG90 is priced at $1,499 (Rs. 96,000) and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com. The 32-inch CHG70 is up for pre-order on Newegg.com for $699, and the 27-inch monitor is available for pre-order on Samsung.com for $599.

BenQ launches Zowie XL2540 gaming monitor in India for Rs. 45,000


Taiwan based BenQ has launched Zowie XL2540, a 24.5-inch gaming monitor at a price of Rs. 45,000 in India.

The Zowie XL2540 offers a refresh rate of of 240HZ, which ensures smooth gameplay even at 240 frames per second. The monitor sports a removable Shield on either sides, that can be modified as per gamers preference to improve their concentration by blocking out distractions.

It comes with a feature called Black eQualizer, that increases visibility in dark scenes without overexposing bright areas. The color output can also be tweaked with its 20-level Color Vibrance settings.

The BenQ Zowie XL2540 features a 24.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) TN display. and includes DVI, 2 x HDMI ports, DPI-2, USB extensions, a headphone and mic jack.

Acer unveils new Predator series monitors with G-SYNC, 4K and curves


Acer also introduced two new Predator Gaming monitors, Z35 and XB1 which packs NVIDA's G-SYNC technology. 

The Predator Z35 sports 35-inch 21:9 UltraWide Full HD (2560x1080) panel with a curvature of 2000R for an immersive gaming experience. It comes with NVIDIA ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur) technology that reduces motion blur and keeps your edges sharp. It also house powerful audio with DTS Sound  2 x 9W speakers and Acer's TrueHarmony technology.

The Predator XB1 come in two screen models, 27-inch and 28-inch. The 27-inch models (XB271HK / XB271HU) feature a ZeroFrame edge-to-edge design with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) or WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS panels that support 100% of the sRGB color gamut, while the XB271HU supports NVIDIA ULMB. The 28-inch model (XB281HK) features a 4K UHD panel. 

The Acer predator Z35 monitor prices start at $1199.99 | €1,099 and will be available in North America and EMEA regions in December. The Predator XB1 series monitor prices start a $799.99 | €699 and will hit EMEA region first in October, follower by North America in November.

Samsung's latest monitor can wirelessly charge your phone


Samsung introduced the world's first monitor with an integrated wireless charging function of mobile devices, the SE370. It works with all mobile devices that use the Qi wireless charging standard. 

The wireless charging is integrated in the monitor's stand. You will need to place your device on the stand's charging area to charge it, which is confirmed by an LED light. Samsung SE370 has an ultra-narrow bezel and semi-transparent blue finish frame with white glossy body on all four sides.

The SE370 monitor comes in 23.6 and 27-inch sizes and features a display screen that offers high-performance Plane-to-Line-Switching (PLS) panel that allows users to experience 178 degree wide viewing angle and an excellent picture quality with vivid and clear image up to a 300 cd/m2 brightness. There is also an eye saver mode that reduces the harmful effects of blue light on your eyes by optimizing environmental settings.
The SE370 supports AMD's Freesync technology for a faster refresh rate and minimizes input latency, as as reduces stutter and lag during gaming and video playback. The game mode detects scene changes and corrects blurry images, enhances colors and alters contrast for improved visibility. The monitor has a Eco Saving Plus function that reduces screen brightness for increased energy efficiency. The on-screen display (OSD) mode reduces energy consumption by 10 percent based on the luminescence of the screen's black section.

The Samsung SE370 is compatible with Windows 10 and Mac, and comes with one HDMI 1.4, one DisplayPort and one D-Sub ports.

Acer Launches new range of laptops, 2-in-1 notebook, All-in-One PC and monitors in India

Acer launced laptops, All-in-one PCs, gaming monitors and curved monitors for the Indian market. Acers product portfolio for India include Acer Aspire E5 series, Aspire V Nitro Notebook, Aspire V3 Series, Aspire Z Series AIO, Aspire Switch 12 Series 2-in-1 Notebook, XB204H gaming TFT monitor and XR341CKA curved monitor with Nvidia G-Sync technology. All the machines run on Windows 8.1 and will be upgraded to Windows 10 when it releases on July 29.

The Acer Aspire E5 Series notebooks has two models based on screen sizes - 14-inch and 15.6-inch. It is powered by fifth-generation Intel Core Processor and can be configures with up to Nvidia GeForce 920M series graphics with dedicated DDR3 VRAM. Users have the options to add up to 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD. It features LumiFlex, BluelightSheild and Acer TrueHarmony. Connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and other regular suite. They are Skype-certified and comes in White, Red and Charcol exteriors.

The Acer Aspire E5 Series will be available in India from July with a price starting at Rs. 26,499.
The Acer V Nitro Black Edition is a gaming laptop. It sports 15-inch 4K resolution IPS display with Acer ComfyView non-glare technology. Under the hood there is fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor clubbed with up to Nvidia GeForce GTX960M GPU from handling high-end games. It houses DustDefender technology, which removes the internal buildup of dust using the metal-fan. There is also CoolBoost technology that enables users to enable faster fan speed and set lower GPU/CPU temperatures.

The Acer Aspire V Nitro-Black Edition will be available in India from July with a price starting at Rs. 1,10,000.
The Acer Aspire V3 is a premium laptop which is powered by fifth gen Intel Core processor. There is no details on the display size. It packs up to 16GB RAM and  Nvidia GeForce GTX 840 GPU with dedicated 2GB DDR3 RAM along with 1TB HDD. It houses Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater powered sound system and provides 7-hour of battery life. The laptop comes with Acers's Precision TouchPad with ACM (Accidental Contact Mitigation) technology.

The Acer Aspire V3 Series will be available in India from July with a price starting at Rs. 43,499.


The Acer Aspire Switch 12 is a 2-in-1 notebook which can be viewed in five different modes- It can be positioned as a laptop and tablet, but because its screen can rotate 360-degrees and rest on a kickstand, it can also flip into display, tent and desktop formats. It features a detachable keyboard, 12.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with Zero Air Gap technology and an Intel Core M processor. It comes with up to 128GB SSD storage and offers 8 hours battery life. Users also have the option to use Acer Active Pen for intuitive writing and drawing.

The Acer Aspire Switch 12 will be available in India with prices starting at Rs. 53,999.
The Acer Aspire Z All-in-One PC features 19.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LED backlit display. The screen tilts easily between 17-degree to 35-degree with finger tip. Under the hood there is an an Intel Pentium J2900 processor (4 cores, 4 threads, 2.41GHz base, 2.66GHz Turbo). Other features include 500GB HDD, 1080p Full HD webcam, stereo speakers with Acer's TrueHarmony and Dolby Digital Plus home theater technology and SD card reader.

The Acer Aspire Z Series All-in-One will be available in India from July with a price starting at Rs. 26,999.

It also features flicker-less technology to lessen eye fatigue for comfortable gaming or working experience. It supports HDMI inputs, DisplayPort and has a USB 3.0 hub.

The world’s first curved monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC Technology, XR341CKA will be available in India from July with a price starting at Rs. 89,999.

Lastly Acer XB240H is the worlds first QHD / UHD, G-Sync / FreeSync gaming monitor. The monintor sports Nvidia's G-Sync technology with 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time that offers outstanding gaming experience. It has Ultra HD resolution display that is available in 24-inch or 27-inch screen sizes.

The next generation XB240H Series gaming monitors will be available with 24-inch and 27-inch displays, prices starting at Rs. 27,999.

Acer announces 34-inch QHD curved gaming monitor with NVIDIA's G-Sync technology



Acer announced its first curved monitor with NVIDIA's G-Sync technology, XR341CKA which provides an immersive gaming experience with minimal stutters. It comes with DTS sound, zero-frame design with futuristic aluminum base and ambient lighting options for enhanced entertainment experience.

The Acer XR341CKA sports a curved 34-inch 21:9 UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440) IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle. It supports 100% of the sRGB color gamut, offering accurate color reproduction. 

The monitor can be tilted from -5° to 35° and adjusted vertically up to 130 mm for comfortable viewing angles. It also features flicker-less technology to lessen eye fatigue for comfortable gaming or working experience. It supports HDMI inputs, DisplayPort and has a USB 3.0 hub.

When NVIDIA G-SYNC mode is enabled, gamers can fine tune the monitor's performance including the 6-axis color adjustment, on screen display of refresh rate and three different aim-point icons to choose from. The G-SYNC mode can be identified via a red ambient light at the lower edge of the monitor.

The Acer XR341CKA monitor is priced at $1,299 and will be available in North America and China (CNY 8,999) in September. For EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa) it is priced at €1,399 and will be available in August.
