HTC One M10 will offer "very very compelling camera experience"

HTC is gearing up to launch its flagship, the One M10. Just a day back, the company started teasing the One M10 and now a company official has shared titbit of the One M10's camera.

HTC's Chief Financial Officer, Chialin Chang during an interview told CNET that the One M10 will offer a "very very compelling camera experience" .

"We can confidently say that HTC will have a very, very compelling camera experience. We’re making this comment after we’ve seen what’s going on in the market", Chang told the publication.

The statement comes following MWC 2016 where groundbreaking new smartphone camera technology were revealed from Samsung, Xiaomi and LG. Chang also mentioned that he is confident about One M10's  camera appeal "after seeing what's going on in the market", referring to Galaxy S7, G5 and Mi 5.

HTC's flagship have not gained much popularity when it comes to camera quality. The company announced the One M7 and One M8 with UltraPixel technology, that failed to deliver. For the One M9 HTC, went with the megapixel camera, but again wasn't well received, as it haven't been on par with what the competition offered.

"Hopefully, this year will be different," added Chang.

It is being rumored that HTC will be using the UltraPixel technology once again in the One M10. The rear camera is rumored to have a 12 Ultrapixel module with laser auto focus and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Meanwhile HTC ROM developer L1abTooFer has shared details of the One M10 storage options. According to the developer, the One M10 will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, depending on storage market. HTC coming up with a 16GB model hints that, the Android 6.0's Adaptable Storage might be enabled on One M10, a feature that Samsung and LG ignored.

Possible HTC One M10 poses for the camera in White

A couple of weeks after outing the black colored variant of HTC One M10 (Perfume), Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shared a new One M10 image that shows it in White color.

After looking at the image the first thing you'll notice is that the One M10 looks like a hybrid of Apple / Samsung flagships. The image shows an elongated Samsung-like physical home button that could house the fingerprint sensor. It also strengthens the rumor that One M10 will not have the front facing BoomSound speakers.

It's worth noting that the Black colored One M10 (Perfume) image that appeared earlier had a different looking home button. However, Blass had earlier suggested that the One M10 appearance may change, so this could be the final design.

As for the release, Blass had earlier revealed that HTC One M10 will launch in the U.S in the week of May 9.

HTC One M10 (Perfume) display, camera details, possible launch date surfaces

HTC's upcoming flagship, the One M10 codenamed Perfume is expected to do away from the old M-series design, and borrow its cues for the One A9. A few days back @evleaks shared a live image of the One M10 and now based on that image along with 'Insider Information', a XDA developer member created a render (mockup) of the One M10.

The phone is said to be the 'cleanest most symmetrical phone' HTC has ever made'. HTC has kept the front clean as it has ditched the HTC logo, along with the black bar and the Boom Sound speakers, as compared to the old HTC M -series flagship.

In addition, a separate leak has revealed details of the display, camera and launch date of the handset. L1abTooFeR, a developer turned reliable HTC tipster claims that the HTC One M10, will sport a 5.2-inch QHD display, instead of 5.1 suggested by @evleaks. He also shared details of the camera specifications of the One M10.

The primary camera of the One M10 will be 12-megapixel 1.55um Sony IMX377 sensor, the same used in Google's Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. The primary camera will be assisted by dual-tone LED flash, laser autofocus, OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus). The front facing camera will be 5-megapixel Ultrapixel, that will use Samsung's s5K4e6 sensor.

Meanwhile, @evleaks has revealed that the HTC One M10 will launch in the U.S in the week of May 9. He also claims that HTC will launch a smartwatch before the end of April.

Possible HTC One M10 photo shows up

Couple of weeks back @evleaks revealed that HTC's upcoming flagship, the One M10 would have a design language similar to that of One A9. Now he's released an image claimed to be the One M10, which shares a few design elements with the One A9.

The first thing noticeable of the One M10 is that the HTC logo is not present on the front and the black bar is also gone. Just below the display there is a rounded home button, that should the finger print sensor. Also seen is the Antenna stripes at the sides and top. There is no front facing speaker, below the display, so the boomsound speaker won't be making a come back.

With the One A9, HTC borrowed the design language of iPhone, but the One M10, with the black bar and logo gone, and rounded home button, appears to be a complete iPhone knock off.

According to rumors, The HTC One M10 comes with 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 810 SoC with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 12-Ultrapixel camera (w/ OIS), fingerprint sensor and will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8.0 UI on top.

The HTC One 10, will not be announced at MWC, instead HTC will hold a separate event for the announcement in March.

HTC One M10 (Perfume) to feature QHD AMOLED display, 12 UltraPixel camera

After claiming that the HTC One M10 (Perfume) will have a design similar to the One A9, Evan Blass aka @evleaks have revealed important specifications of the One M10 (Perfume). The details passed on to evleaks comes from a source who had access to prototype of the device.

The One M10 would be a total revamp of what HTC's flagship One M7, One M8 and One M9 has offered. With One M10 HTC is stepping up the resolution of its display, with 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) on a 5.1-inch screen, which is an AMOLED display, following the lead of One A9, which moved from LCD to AMOLED.

It will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (23GB user accessible) with microSD card slot for expansion.

The UltraPixel sensor is making a comeback, as the One M10 will come with 12-UltraPixel rear camera with laser auto-focus and optical image stabilization (OIS). By comparison, the HTC One M9 had 20MP camera, while the M7 and M8 had 4-Ultrapixel sensor. The only detail known of the front camera is that it will have OIS as well.

There will be a fingerprint scanner embedded in the Home button, that is placed below the display just like the One A9. A similar placement was seen on One M9+ as well. It will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC Sense UI 8.0 on top. Unfortunately, the phone won't have Boomsound speakers.

Some of the features like, AMOLED display, Fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button, and lack of BoomSound speaker, reiterates earlier speculation that the One M10 could sport a design similar to that of One A9.

The HTC One M10 will not be unveiled at MWC next month, instead HTC will hold a separate event for the launch.

HTC One M10 (Perfume) could resemble the One A9

A tweet sent out by leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks) suggests that the HTC's upcoming flagship M10, codenamed perfume might look very similar to the One A9 smartphone, that was launched last year.

“If you like the A9, you’ll love the M10” the tweet read, which could mean that the M10 will have a design that is more or less similar to the One A9. If that's the case, the One M10 will sport an all-metal body that is thin and sport a physical home button with fingerprint sensor embedded. This is not a surprise, as an HTC executive last year had mentioned that the One A9 design, which looks similar to that of iPhones, would form the base for future smartphones from HTC.

In another tweet, Evan Blass posted a screenshot that suggests an AT&T variant of Perfume (or M10) is under development. This should not come as a surprise as HTC flagships have been sold by AT&T and other major U.S carriers in the past.

According to rumor mill, the HTC One M10 (Perfume) will run Android 6.1 with HTC Sense 8.0 UI on top and arrive on two variants - one with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC meant for the U.S and EU market, the other with MediaTek for China and South Asian market. It will be equipped with fingerprint sensor, 23-megapixel rear camera, 3000mAh battery and will be IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.

The HTC Perfume / One M10 is expected to be launched in March.
