Apple iPhone 6s, 6s Plus now available in India

Apple has started selling the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in India and as expected eager customers queued up outside major Apple stores at midnight to get their hands on the new iPhones. It is the fastest iPhone rollout ever in India with the new iPhones going on sale less than a month after being launched in the U.S.

Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is offered in Silver, Gold, Space Gray and Rose Gold colors. They come in in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The iPhone 6s  62,000,  Rs. 72,000 and Rs. 82,000 for 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions, respectively, while the iPhone 6s Plus is priced at Rs. 72,000, Rs. 82,000 and Rs. 92,000 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions, respectively.

The new iPhone are already available from online retailers- Flipkart, Amazon India, Infibeam and other. They are also available from Airtel stores, Croma stores, Reliance stores and authorized resellers. Vodafone has tied up with Amazon India to bundle Vodafone Red 1299 plan worth Rs 8,885 for 6 months free of cost on purchase of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus from Amazon India. Airtel is also offering an iPhone Infinity plan for its postpaid subscribers, which offers 60GB of free 4G data for one year. 

Apple's iPhone 6s and Iphone 6s Plus have 4.7-inch (1334 x 750 pixels) and 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) displays, respectively with new 3D Touch technology which senses the pressure you apply to the display to offer different actions. They are equipped with A9 processor with M9 motion co-processor with 2GB RAM.

For imaging, there is 12-megapixel iSight camera with 4K video recording support and 5-megapixel front facing camera with Retina Flash. It runs on the latest iOS 9, packs Qualcomm MDM9634M LTE Cat. 6 modem for faster LTE speeds and support for 23 LTE bands.

Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus India pricing details

The Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will go on sale in India starting October 16. As per reports Apple has revealed the pricing of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to the offline retailers and they were wise enough to share it.

The Apple iPhone 6s will cost Rs. 62,000 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 72,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 82,000 for the 128GB variant while the iPhone 6s Plus will set you back by Rs. 72,000 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 82,000 for the 64GB variant and 92,000 for the 128GB variant.

The new listing also confirms the repricing of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s which was reported last month. To recall iPhone 6 is now priced at Rs. 52,000 for the 16GB model and Rs. 62,000 for the 64GB model. The iPhone 6 Plus is now priced at Rs. 62,000 and Rs. 72,000 for 16GB and 64GB models accordingly. The older iPhone 5s now starts at Rs. 35,000 for the 16GB variant, with the 32GB model now priced at Rs. 40,000.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have received phenomenal response from consumers acroos the globe, selling more than 13 million units with three days of launch, breaking last year's sales record of 10 million iPhones sold.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus comes with a bag full of features under its belt to justify. It has a decent configuration, supreme display, dazzling looks backed by a good rear camera.

It features the same specs as iPhone 6s, but comes with a bigger display of 5.5-inches which also has 3D Touch technology. It is powered by the new A9 64-bit SoC and has 12-megapixel iSight camera with True Tone flash and 5-megapixel Face Time camera. Pricing and Availability

The Apple iPhone 6s Plus comes in Silver, gray, gold and a new fourth color option, rose gold. It will be available in 12 countries that includes, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and the US starting September 25. Pre-orders will begin on September 12 in these countries. 

For U.S iPhone 6s Plus price starts at $749 for the 16GB variant, $849 for 64GB, and $949 for the 128GB variant.
 
In Canada  iPhone 6s Plus price starts at CAD 1029 for the 16GB variant, CAD 1159 for 64GB, and CAD 1289 for the 128GB variant.

In Germany and France iPhone 6s Plus price starts at EUR 849 for the 16GB variant, EUR 959 for 64GB, and EUR 1069 for the 128GB variant.

In UK iPhone 6s Plus price starts at GBP 619 for the 16GB variant, GBP 699 for 64GB, and GBP 789 for the 128GB variant.

There is no official word yet on iPhone 6s Plus pricing and availability in India. However, the launch is certainly going to be within this year, and based on recent iPhone launches in the country, Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 6s just before Diwali (November 11).

Apple iPhone 6s Plus with 5.5-inch display, 3D Force Touch, 12MP camera announced

Apple at its special event in San Francisco launched the bigger sibling of iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus. CEO Tim Cook described the new iPhone "as the most advanced phones ever". It features the same specs as iPhone 6s, but comes with a bigger display.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus sports 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. The display is covered bny a layer of dual ion-exchange strengthened glass, which is incredibly durable and Apple claims it to be the strongest cover glass in the industry. The display comes with 3D Touch technology which gives the display's surface pressure-sensing abilities, which comes with a range of new interaction gestures.

iPhone 6s Plus has a thickness of just 7.3mm and weighs 192g. The body is made out of metal and Apple has used a stronger grade of Aluminum 7000-series. The Touch ID finger print scanner is built into the home button and is twice as faster at reading fingerprints.

The iPhone 6s Plus uses Apple's new A9 64-bit SoC. It is 70% faster at CPU tasks and up to 90% faster at GPU tasks compared to the A8. The M9 motion co-processor is integrated into the A9 and connects to the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and barometer of the device. The power efficiency of M9 allows Siri to be in stand-by all the time, and now you can wake her up at anytime using the voice command "Hey Siri".

For storage there are three options, 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. There is no support for microSD card.

Apple has ditched the 8-megapixel camera sensor and now has 12-megapixel iSight camera with True Tone LED flash. It can also shoot 4K videos. On the front there is 5-megapixel Face time camera with Retina Flash mode, where the display will light up to act as flash.

The Apple iPhone 6s Plus comes in Silver, gray, gold and a new fourth color option, rose gold. Despite having an identical feature set to the compact 4.7-inch iPhone 6, Apple puts a $100 premium for the iPhone 6S Plus’ bigger screen. The base model 16GB is priced at $299, 64GB model costs $399 and the 64GB model will set you back by $499.

The iPhone 6s Plus goes on preorder in the US, UK, Australia and nine other countries on September 12th, and will go on sale on September 25th. They will go on sale in over 130 countries by the end of the year.
