CES 2015 : Kodak's Instamatic 5 Is A Photography-Focused Android Smartphone

British OEM (Original Equipment manufacturer) Bullitt in collaboration with Kodak has taken the wraps off the company's first smartphone dubbed Instamatic 5 at CES 2015, Las Vegas. Bullitt specializes in ruggedised phone designs, which it then licenses out to non-smartphone related brand.

The instamatic is for those who want to take quick and easy snaps and selfies, and then share them, hassle free. With its simple UI it is great phone for snapping and sharing images. Whatever you click gets added to your lockscreen automatically, but you can even choose which Image you want to add there. There is also an option to print photos from your Home screen.

Coming to the specs the Instamatic 5 features a 5-inch display with a resoultion of 1280x720 pixels and is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek Mt6592 octa-core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage [microSD card support upto 32GB]. The handset runs a customised version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat, with Android Lollipop update rolling out later. 

Camera features include a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. The handset is backed by 2,150mAh battery.

The Instamatic 5 has been priced at $249 (Rs.15,800) and will be launched in Europ at the end of Q1 2015. There is no details on the global availability of the handset. Kodak will also launch a 4G handset, tablet and connected camera in the second half of the year.
