CES 2015 : Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPad Products
Chinese Laptop maker Lenovo has launched a series of new devices
ahead of CES 2015 which include eight new laptop models under its
Thinkpad lineup - the X1 Carbon model and the new the new additions to
the Thinkpad family - ThinkPad X,T,E and L.
The main focus is on the third generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1 carbon ultrabook. The updated laptop features an even thinner and lighter chassis than the 2014 model, measuring 17.7mm thick and weighing just under 1.3kg.
The laptop includes dedicated functional keys and also features a redesigned touchpad with left and right buttons that were missing in 2015 models. Other features include Intel's fifth generation Core i processors, a full WQHD or HD screen, up to 512GB of SSD storage, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM and over 10 hours of battery life. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at $1,249 (Rs.79,000) and will be available in the US from January.
Lenovo also announced ThinkPad X250 in the X series. The laptop features 12.5-inch display with 1366x768 pixel display (full-HD option available), weigh 1.31kgs, and measure 20.3mm. The laptop will support upto 512GB SSD or 1TB hard drive for storage and up to 8GB DDR2 RAM. Price for the laptop begins at $1,149 (Rs. 73,000) and will be available to buy in February.
The Thinkpad 450 and Thinkpad 450s which succeed the T440 and T440s laptops will also add up to the ThinkPad lineup that Lenovo will unveil along with the ThinkPad T550. The T450 and T450s laptops will sport a 14-inch screen (full-HD option available) while the T550 will sport a 15-inch screen with optional WQHD display. The T450 and T550 laptop features Lenovo's Power Bridge Technology that lets user to change the battery, without switching off the Laptop. The price of the ThinkPad T450, ThinkPad 450s and ThinkPad T550 begins at $1,099 (Rs.69,600), $849 (Rs.53,700) and $999 (Rs.63,200) respectively and will be released in February.
The low-end E series of ThinkPad include E450 and E550 laptops. The ThinkPad E450 and E550 sports a 15.6-inch and 14-inch display respectively, with full HD options and upto 16GB RAM. Both the laptop will be available in February at a starting price of $599 (Rs.38,000).
Lastly, the L series is an entry-level laptop with 14-inch display. It comes with upto Core i7 processor support, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD or 36)GB SSD. The laptop is priced starting $699 (Rs. 44,200) and will be available in February.
