LG announced the launch of the highly anticipated LG G4 smartphone at launch events in New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul.

The LG G4 sports a Slim Arc exterior design which runs along its entire body highlighted by a display with a subtle curvature which is 20 percent durable than a flat smartphone.

The rear side of the smartphone is handcrafted with genuine full grain leather. The vegetable tanning process used is an age old tradition that requires skilled craftsmen to produce and dye the leather. According to LG it is environmentally friendly and can be recycled easily. It also comes with plastic back covers.

The LG G4 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560x1440, 538ppi) IPS Quantam display, which offers 20 percent greater color reproduction, 25 percent brighter and 50 percent greater contrast. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Under the hood there is a Snapdragon 808 chipset with a 1.8GHz hexa-core processor and Adreno 418 GPU. The smartphone packs 3GB LPDD3 RAM and comes with 32GB internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. 
Camera features include 16-megapixel rear camera with F1.8 Aperture and OIS 2.0. The F1.8 aperture lens allows 80 percent more light than the 13-megapixel camera on LG G3. The rear camera is also equipped with Color Spectrum Sensor (CSS) which improves the color accuracy of infrared light reflected from objects and by reading the RGB values and  There is also an 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfies

The LG G4 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG's new UX 4.0 on top. The UI comes with a host of new features like QuickShot, Gesture Interval Shot, QuickMemo+, RingID, improved Smart Notice, updated Gallery, and Smart Bulletin. Plus its comes with  LG's proprietary software like KnockCode, Knock On and health app. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Google Office and G4 owner will receive an additional 100GB Google drive storage for free for two years.


Connectivity options include 4G LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, IR Blaster Bluetooth 4.1LE, NFC and USB 2.0. A 3000mAh battery runs the show on LG G4. It measures 148.9 x 76.1 x 6.3 - 9.8mm, weighs 155g and is available in the following color options-

• [Ceramic] Metallic Gray / Ceramic White / Shiny Gold 
• [Genuine Leather] Black / Brown / Red / Sky Blue / Beige / Yellow

The LG G4  will be available in South Korea starting April 29, followed by 180 markets worldwide. LG has not revealed the pricing of the G4.
