FLIR One thermal camera now available for iOS devices, Android version in July
Smaller, Higher Resolution Plug-In Accessory Offers Broad Compatibility With iOS and Android Devices |
The pocket sized FLIR One transforms Android and iOS mobile devices into a powerful thermal imager that sees heat and measures temperature. It can see temperature variation smaller than a tenth of a degree and also enables a host of practical applications, from identifying energy inefficiencies and water leaks in home.
The FLIR One gets power from an internal battery and utilizes FLIR's latest generation Lepton thermal camera core, which is four time the resolution of the previous version. It connects to your smartphone or tablet via USB-port for Android devices and Lightning connector for iOS.
It uses FLIRS's patented multi-spectral dyanamic imaging (MSX) technology, which embosses the edge details from FLIR One's visible camera onto the thermal image producing high fidelity images.
The company also announced that it will release an updated iOS software development kit (SDK) and a new Android SDK to allow developers to build and launch apps for both mobile device platforms.
The new FLIR One is now available worldwide for US$249.99 (Rs. 16,000) for iOS devices, while the Android-compatible version of the FLIR One will be available in July.
