Asus ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8 tablets launched in India
Asus at its ZenFestival event in India launched the ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8 tablets. Both were initially announced at Computex, Teipei back in June. Asus will launch the 4G LTE version of these tablet in the country with voice calling capabilities.
Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370C) features 7-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor paired with Mali-450 MP4 GPU. It comes with 1GB or 2GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB internal storage (microSD card supported). It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on top. Camera features include 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and GPS/A-GPS. It is fuelled by 13Wh battery and comes in Black, White and Aurora Metallic colors.
Asus ZenPad 8 sports embossed-leather patterning and polished metallic frame that gives it a premium look. It comes with 5.1 channel DTS sound technology with built in DTS-HD coder-decoder for high-fidelity sound. It also has DTS Sound Studio to transform stereo audio into virtual surround-sound through speakers or headphones for immersive experience.
ZenPad 8 features 8-inch (1280 x 800) HD IPS display with Asus Tru2Life (software to improve video playback). Under the hood there is an Octa-Core Snapdragon 610 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. The ZenPad 8 comes in two RAM variants 1GB RAM or 2GB RAM and two storage variants 8GB and 16GB. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on top.Camera features include 8-megapixel / 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p full HD video recording and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE or 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. A 4000mAh battery fuels the ZenPad 8.
The ASUS ZenPad 7 has been priced at Rs 11,999, while the ZenPad 8 costs Rs 14,999. There is an additional Audio Cover accessory which features surround speakers. It is available for both ZenPad 7 and ZenPad for an extra cost of Rs. 3,000.
