Gionee S5.1 Pro with 5-inch display, octa-core SoC announced

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee launched the Gionee S5.1 Pro in China.  It is a revamped version of Gionee Elife S5.1 which is equipped with bigger display, more RAM, beefier processor and high resolution camera.

Gionee S5.1 Pro features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is equipped with 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor further aided by Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top and houses Hybrid Dual SIM slot (second slot can also be used as microSD slot).

Camerawise, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 8-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB 2.0 port. It is fueled by 2400mAh battery. The phone measures 145.1 x 70 x 6.35mm, weighs 129g and comes in White and Gold colors.

The Gionee S5.1 Pro will be available in China this month for around $300. There is no word on an international availability.
