Swipe Junior kids smartphone launched for Rs. 5,999
Swipe has launched a smartphone specifically targeted at kids called the Junior. The phone comes with parental control, which allows parents to keep a check on the contact list of their kids are connected to, and control or limit the time spent on internet browsing, games and other apps. It also offers SOS emergency dialing facility with just one click.
Parents can also monitor the phone's location through GPS and set safe and danger zones for their kids. The phone's UI can be customized with wallpaper and ringtone, and comes pre-loaded with apps for kids and interactive storybook.
As for the specs, the Swipe Junior features 4.5-inch IPS display and is equipped with 1.3GHz Dual core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It sports 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel VGA front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is fueled by 1900mAh battery which promises 8 hours of talk time (2G) and 120 hours of standby time. It offers a shockproof and durable body, and comes in Blue and Pink colors.
The Swipe Junior is priced at Rs. 5,999 and will be available via major e-commerce platforms. It comes bundled with one year free subscription for parental control and geo-tracking services.
