TCL Play 2, Play 2C with fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE announced
Chinese electronics company TCL has introduced Play 2 and Play 2C budget 4G smartphone in its home country. Both of them have fingerprint sensor at the back that lets you unclock the device in just 0.5 seconds. They are also equipped with IR sensor to control home appliances.
The TCL Play 2 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 617 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card. For imaging, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5P Lens, f/2.0 aperture and can record 1080p videos. On the front there is 5-megapixel shooter with 85-degree wide angle lens. It is fueled by 2500mAh battery.
The TCL Play 2C also features a 5-inch HD IPS display, but is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor aided by Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage capacity is 16GB, which can be expanded via microSD card. It sports 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5P lens, f/2.0 aperture, 77-wide angle lens, and can record 1080p videos as well. For clicking selfies you get a 8-megapixel front shooter with LED flash, 4P lens, f/2.2 aperture and 86-degree wide-angle lens. It gets juice to run from a 2000mAh battery.
Both support dual SIM, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity. They run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The TCL Play 2 is priced at CNY 899 ($140 | Rs. 9,360) and will be available in China late December. The TCL Play 2C costs $699 ($110 | Rs. 7,276) and will be available for order in China from December 10 and will go on sale staring December 18.
