Acer Iconia One 8 (B1-850), a $100 tablet for families and children


Acer's latest Android tablet the Iconia One 8 (B1-850) is an 8-inch media tablet aimed at families and Children. The tablet comes with Kids Center app, that comes with a child-friendly user interface and pre-screened content appropriate for children including videos, game, books and website.

It also comes with EZ Wakeup (with one-touch and double tap on the display the tablet awakens), EZ Snap (take screenshot with three finger pinch) and System Doctor (manage the tablet's memory, storage and apps to optimize system functionality)

As for the specs, the Acer Iconia 8 tablet features 8-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by quad-core MediaTek processor, further aided by 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card. It comes with 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front facing camera. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The 4600mAh battery promises a 9 hour life.

The Acer Iconia One 8 (B1-850) is priced at $100 (Rs. 6,500) and will go on sale in North America in February. The tablet will be available later this month in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region later this month at €129. It comes in White and Blue colors.
