MotoMods backplates for Moto Z lineup shown in leaked image

After unveiling the Moto G4 line-up earlier this month, Motorola (owned by Lenovo) will launch its 2016 flagship at Lenovo Tech World event on June 9. At the event, the company is expected to announce the Moto Z line up – the Moto Z Style, Moto Z Play and Moto Droid 2016.

The upcoming Moto Z line up is expected to have a modular design, and rumored to come with modular backplates called MotoMods such as speakers, battery pack, camera grip and Pico projector that can be swapped.

Now Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shared renders of the MotoMods accessories and Moto Droid 2016 edition, which is expected to be a variant of the Moto Z line up for U.S carrier Verizon. The MotoMods accessories render shows three modular backplates including camera grip, stereo speaker and battery pack. The camera grip has a dedicated shutter key, a flash unit and optical zoom, while the other two backplates are not clearly visible. There will be a total of six modular backplates.

The render of Moto Droid 2016 Edition, shows the mobile phone in black, silver and gold color option. The render shows the 16-pin connector at the back which will let you connect the modular MotoMod backplates to it. The Droid Logo is etched below the rear camera sensor. It's not know whether the render is of Moto Z Style Droid Edition or Moto Z Play Droid Edition.
