Android Marshmallow now running on 13.3 percent of active devices
Google has released Android version distribution numbers for the month of July. These numbers were compiled from Android devices that accessed Play Store in a seven-day period ending on July 11. The latest data shows Marshmallow getting a small bump, but Lollipop and KitKat still have the bulk of active installation.
As per the latest data, Marshmallow is now running on active on 13.3 percent of active Android devices, a raise of 3.2 percent, compared to 10.1 percent last month.
Lollipop is now present of in 35.1 percent of active devices, down from 35.4 percent from last month. KitKat fell to 30.1 percent from 31.6 percent in June. Jellybean was down to 17.8 percent from 18.9 percent in June.
The rest of the Android version adoption rate went downwards. Ice Cream Sandwhich is active in 1.7 percent Android devices, down from 1.9 percent in June, Ginegerbread was down from 2 percent to 1.9 percent. Froyo is still hanging on by the thread with a 0.1 percent share.
