Honor Note 8 with 6.6-inch QHD display, 4500mAh battery gets official


Huawei's sub-brand Honor has officially announced the giant 6.6-inch Honor Note 8 with powerful innards in China. This is Honor's third high-end smartphone after Honor 8 and Honor V8, and will be competing with Xiaomi's 6.44-inch Mi Max. The phablet sports a metal unibody design that's 7.18mm thick around the waist, weighs 219 and boasts fingerprint scanner at the back.

The Honor Note 8 comes with 6.6-inch Quad HD (2K) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by octa-core Kirin 955 processor backed by Mali T880 MP4 GPU and 4G RAM. Honor will offer the Note 8 in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The storage is expandable via microSD card.

For photography, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, OIS and f/2.0 aperture. For clicking selfies and making video calls you get 8-megapixel front camera.

It runs Android Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top and has Hybrid dual-SIM slots, which means the secondary slot can be used either as microSD card slot or dual SIM slot. For connectivity there's support for 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It is fueled by 4500mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Honor Note 8 32GB model is priced at CNY 2299 ($346 | Rs. 23,110), the 64GB storage model is priced CNY 2799 ($376 | Rs. 25,000) and 128GB storage model costs CNY 2799 ($420 | Rs. 28,000). The Honor Note 8 will be up for pre-order via vmall and jd.com shortly and will go on sale starting from August 9. It comes in Gold, Silver or Gray color options.
