Nexus 2016 smartphones to get dual-tab settings, Night Light mode, ambient display double-tap

According to a report from Android Police, Google's 2016 Nexus devices will come with a number of software tweaks. A couple of new screenshots is offering a look at these features.

As per the screenshots, Google is apparently revamping the color theme for the settings menu, which will be a mixture of dark grey, blue and white. Additionally the settings menu will also have two new sections for 'All' and 'Support'.

Moving on, earlier in Android N Developer Preview included Night Mode but was removed later. This feature is expected to return as  'Night Light Mode', and can be manually turned on and be adjusted based on sunrise/sunset data. You can also schedule to turn on the Night Light mode automatically. This mode will reduce the amount of Blue light emitted from Nexus 2016 smartphone' screen by offering a Red tint to make it easier to look at the screen or read in dim light.

Lastly, the 2016 Nexus devices will also get ambient display with double-tap gesture to check notifications without waking it up fully . To activate ambient display mode, you'll have to double tap on the screen.

The new features are said to be exclusive to 2016 Nexus devices. A few months back Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the 2016 Nexus devices will get software features that will not be present in stock Android, to differentiate them from other smartphones.
