Acer outs the rugged Chromebook 11 N7


Acer has announced a new budget Chromebook dubbed Chromebook 11 N7 aimed for use in classrooms at the ongoing CES 2017 in Las Vegas.

The fanless Chromebook can withstand daily classroom thanks to the rugged MIL-STD 810G tested case designed to withstand falls up to four feet and shield structures around the corners to prevent damage. It also has a spill resistant keyboard capable of withstanding a spill of 11 ounces of liquid.

The Chromebook 11 N7 feature 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixels IPS display with optional touchscreen option (model C731T) and is powered by dual-core Intel Celeron N3060 processor with 4GB RM and 16GB/32GB eMMC storage. The display sports a 180-degree hinge that lets you fold it back flat.

Other features include 2 x USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and 180-degree hinge that lets you fold the screen back. Acer promises up to 12 hours of battery life.

The Acer Chromebook 11 N7 price starts at $230 and will be available for purchase later this month. It will be available in EMEA region in February.
