Asus VivoPC X is a compact desktop for VR gaming


Asus at CES 2017 announced a new VR ready compact desktop PC called VivoPC X featuring Kaby Lake processor and NVIDIA GTX 10-series GPU. 

The Asus VivoPC X has 7th-gen Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8GB of RAM DDR4 RAM, up to 512GB M.2 SSD and up to 2TB HDD. It is fitted with an NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphic card, which should be just fine for basic VR games.

The compact PC includes 4 x USB 3.1 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x HDMI and DisplayPort with support for NVIDIA GSync display. Just like gaming consoles, the VivoPC X have to be connected to a TV or monitor to get full-fledged PC experience.

To keep the system cool, the VivoPC X has side vents to circulate air inside and heat pipe to draw heat away from the processor. All this is stuffed in a body that weighs under five pounds.

The VivoPC X will arrive in March 2017 priced at $799.
