Lenovo refreshes ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga and ThinkPad X1 Tablet


At the ongoing CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Lenovo has announced has upgraded its ThinkPad X1 lineup which includes the ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop, ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible and ThinkPad X1 Tablet

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Laptop
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is now the smaller and lightest model in the ThinkPad X1 series mesuring 0.6 inches thick and weighing at 1.14kg, but packs powerful specifications. It features 14-inch IPS display with 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) or 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) options, and supports up to Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake processor, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB solid state storage.

Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 3 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Ethernet jacks, NFC (optional), microSD card reader and MicroSD card slot for models which support 4G LTE. It also gets an optional fingerprint scanner and an optional IR camera for biometric securuity. The laptop  has an improved Microsoft Precision Touchpad and TrackPoint, and promises up to 15 hours of battery life.

The ThinkPad Carbon X1 will be available in February starting at $1350 (Rs. 92,000) in Black and Silver colors.


Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible
The ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible features 14-inch display with touch screen and digital pen support. It will be offered in three touch screen display options ㅡ1920 x 1080 pixels IPS, 2560 x 1440 pixel IPS and 2560 x 1440 pixel OLED. The convertible supports up to an Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake-U processor with Intel HD 620/Intel Iris Plus 640 graphics depending on the model, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB solid state storage.

For connectivity there's 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 3 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Ethernet jacks, microSD card slot, NFC (optional) and microSIM card slots for models with LTE. There's a HD webcam and an optional IR camera for Windows Hello support. Lenovo says that the ThinkPad Yoga X1 Yoga with an OLED display offer 10.5 hours of battery life, while the IPS display model can last up to 16 hours.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga will be available in February starting at $1499 (Rs. 1,02,000) in Black and Silver colors.


Lenovo ThinkPad X1 tablet
The upgraded ThinkPad X1 tablet comes with touch screen, digital pen support, and optional ccessories like a detachable keyboard and a presenter module with an integrated projector. The tablet has 12-inch IPS display with 2160 x 1440 pixel screen resolution, and is powered by up to an Intel Core i7-7Y75 Kaby Lake processor. It supports up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD (entry level models will have SATA M.2 storage.

The tablet includes 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, a USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 port, mini DisplayPort, microSD card slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE modem and nano SIM card slot. The battery inside is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of run time, while the optional productivity module will further give an extra battery life of five hours.

The ThinkPad X1 tablet will go on sale in March with a starting price of $950 (Rs. 64,800) in Black color.The keyboard will be available in Black, Silver or Red colors.
