Huawei Y3 2017 with 5-inch display, MediaTek chip announced


Last month, Huawei introduced the budget Y5 2017 smartphone with 5-inch HD display, MediaTek chip and 3000mAh battery. Now the 'Y' series is getting an another member in the form of Y3 2017, which is the successor of Y3 II launched last year

Like the Y3 II, the Y3 2017 is an entry-level device, and does not get any substantial improvements over its predecessor. It offers the same specs, but now has a slightly upgraded processor.

The Huawei Y3 2017 will have 5-inch HD FWVGA display and comes in two processor options: quad-core MediaTek MT6737M chip clocked at 1.1GHz (3G variant) and quad-core MediaTek MT6580M chip clocked at 1.3GHz (4G variant).

It features 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP f/2.0 rear camera w/ LED flash, 2MP front camera, 4G LTE, 2200mAh battery and the usual connectivity options. For software it runs Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1, and comes with Ultra Power Saving Mode, which helps extend the device's battery life.

The Huawei Y3 (2017) will come in Gold, Pink, Blue, White and Gray hues. The pricing and availability details are yet to be announced, but it should cost around $80 or Rs. 5,000.
