Google Pixelbook is a high-end $1199 Chromebook with stylus (leak)


Google is all set to take on Microsoft's Windows 10 S powered Surface Laptop, with its own high-end Chromebook. DroidLife has revealed details of the upcoming Chromebook called Pixelbook.

According to the report, Pixelbook will sport a convertable design, allowing it to be used as both laptop and tablet. Google will sell the Pixelbook starting at $1199. For comparison the Surface Laptop has a starting price of $999.

It will be available in three models in Silver color: 128GB storage model priced at $1199, 256GB model priced at $1399 and 512GB model priced $1749. It will also come with an optional pressure-sensitive stylus called Pixelbook Pen, that is said to cost $99. 

The publication also shared a render of the Pixelbook, that shows it to have a USB Type-C port, trackpad, headphone jack and power button. 

Unfortunately details of the processor and RAM is unknown, but Google's new Chromebook is likely to have metal body, fingerprint scanner and touch-screen display. Furthermore, the new Pixelbook will take advantage of ChromeOS's main feature, the ability to download Android apps from Google Play Store, and run them.

The Pixelbook is expected to be announced alongside new Pixel phones on October 4.
